The man in white, with the glasses, is Gordon Brown, who had, just a few months before this, directed a National Capital Area production of South Pacific, in which Joe Carvajal played the role of Joe Cable, the Marine Corps officer who sings "Younger Than Springtime" to his little Tonkinese girl friend.
