Washington to be honored at a WW II Veterans
dinner, is greeted by Col. Leonard, who was then
head of the Federal government's Office of
Veterans Affairs. The flamboyant Col. Leonard
was also a friend of Frank Sinatra's. Sinatra would
occasionally (and without fanfare) come to the
Nation's Capital and, when he did, he always met
with his "old pal" Col. Leonard.
